Where I've been

Prior to this writing, this blog was not updated in over half a year, and the most recent post on it was a statement that a long-running story I was working on for it would be updating in a set month - something which never came to pass. I'm sorry for that, and I'm sorry for not being able to update this Blogger at all in general. I am very much alive elsewhere on the Internet, don't worry - it's just that I haven't been able to do much in terms of writing, let alone the ambitious stories I had in mind for sharing here and elsewhere, which includes at least two collaborative works as well. Most of my time has been spent focusing on my real-life concerns such as my current software job, and almost all the rest of it was and is being occupied by my family whom I've been staying with for a solid year now for obvious reasons. Between taking care of my parents, being involved in several important activities headed by them (including and especially ongoing home renovations), and a recent medical issue we had to take the time to address, I've had so little time to myself and have been exhausted whenever I did get it.

As such, my creative content productivity suffered, and will likely not be a ble to recover until it's considered safe for me to move back out again (and even then that isn't a guarantee, what with the repeated resurgences of a certain something or other in the United States). Once again, I must apologize for this, and while I should note that I'm a human being and not an art-and-writing-making machine, it still feels like I let down some of you by not updating as much as I've wanted.

Furthermore, during this period, I've felt more productive producing illustrated works, whether it be commissions, Patreon monthly rewards, or just general personal art projects. As fun as writing was, it just didn't feel the same, especially given the greater emphasis on planning, drafting, and proofreading a larger number of events for each story. I still haven't been able to work out the exact plots for the next installments of several of the stories I've been putting off, and I don't know when they'll come to me given the state of things. Worse yet... writing just didn't feel as gratifying to me sometimes. The result is great to read, but the production process was consistently stressful even when I was writing for personal enjoyment. Heck, I got more mileage out of freaking roleplay on Discord than I did with writing stories myself. So... it pains me to say this, but until further notice, all of my multi-chapter writing projects will be on indefinite hiatus until further notice. There's a few drafts that are almost done, but I don't know if I can get the motivation to actually finish them on short notice, and one of them being a co-write didn't help because the co-writer has also been dealing with matters of their own last I checked. This means that even though I'll work on getting the nearly-done WIPs finished up, I'll have to put a stop to everything thus far until I can get my writing drive back.

This does not mean that I won't be updating this blog anymore, though! There's a few stories I've posted elsewhere that I believe I can put here as well, and if I can get the permission from some of the people I've RPed with to convert the RPs we did into actual stories to post here, I will gladly do so. I don't think I'll be able to achieve the goal I set out for myself to update once a month, though - these stories will be uploaded based on my own personal pace, depending on whether or not I can muster the drive to actually post content online. As such, I believe it's better if I post stories as they're completed, rather than trying to complete them on a self-imposed deadline.

And there you have it. That's where I've been and what's been happening. I owe you all my apologies, again, for not being as productive as I wish to be, and I don't know if real life will ever enable me to make it up to the rest of you. But I will try to keep this blog going, and that's a promise! In fact, I actually managed to finish a Discord RP story recently that I've been given the permission to convert into a written work, so if I don't end up being dragged away to other things by the family, hopefully you'll be seeing that later this evening...

In the meantime, below are the links regarding where else you can find me online. My Discord is also available upon request if you want to contact me there - I'm actually most often available on Discord, so that's probably the best way to reach me for IMs and such - outside of office hours, of course!
